Zashi is a Zcash wallet that keeps your balance shielded by default and holds the keys on your device. The friction usually shows up on the exchange side: most of them only accept a transparent t1 address, so paying them means unshielding first. On 0trace it does not.
What you will need
- Zashi with a ZEC balance and a little left over for the network fee.
- The receiving address for whatever you want back - a Bitcoin, Monero or USDT wallet you control.
- No account, no email, no identity check.
Create the order
- Set the top field to Zcash and the bottom field to the asset you want.
- Paste the receiving address for that asset and create the order.
- The order shows two Zcash deposit addresses: a transparent t1 as the main one, and a u1 address underneath it.
Pay from the shielded side
From Zashi, use the u1 address. It is the form a Zcash-native wallet can send to while your funds stay in the shielded pool, and it credits the same order the t1 address does - the two strings address one wallet on our side. The t1 address is published as the main one only because exchange withdrawal forms and multi-chain wallets cannot send to a u1, and because it is what the QR code encodes.
Receiving Zcash back into Zashi
The same works in reverse. Copy your own u1 address out of Zashi, paste it as the payout address, and we pay it directly from our own Zcash wallet - the ZEC arrives shielded rather than landing on a transparent address for you to shield afterwards. Sapling zs1 addresses work the same way, and transparent t1 and t3 addresses are accepted if that is what you want.
What to watch
Send Zcash to the Zcash address the order generated, and nothing else - a deposit on the wrong chain cannot be recovered. Do not use a Sprout zc address on either side: that pool has been closed to new value since Canopy, so nobody can pay it. Send inside the order window so the quoted rate holds as closely as possible; the Zcash page states how many confirmations we wait for before the payout goes out.
